East Kent College are a relatively new client to Benning Brothers Ltd and when the opportunity came to tender for works on their Broadstairs Campus, BBL jumped at the chance of working for East Kent College. Works included building a brand new road for their Yarrow Building and refurbishment works to their new Welcome Reception Building.
Works to the Welcome building started in June and were completed and handed over by the beginning of September where the client was delighted with the completed works. Which included refurbishment to the corridors, classrooms and a new external entrance bridge. BBL worked hard over this 13 week period to provide EKC with a new Welcome Reception that they can be proud of especially as this area will be the first point of call for a lot of visitors & students to the campus.
The construction of the Yarrow Road took place at the same time, where BBL took hold of the project from start to finish including the removal of the old, existing road to accommodate the block paving finish as the new part and all associated landscaping works.
The whole roadway area was 1500m2 consisting of 75,000 new clay pavers which was complete in an 8 week period and handed back on time ready for the September new term start which was fundamental to East Kent College to achieve.
