The East Kent College (EKC) opportunity started with a referral phone call which developed into a mutually beneficial working relationship. BBL attended the Broadstairs campus to discuss a new project which progressed into a design service where we met their full requirements working to a tight deadline. This gave BBL the chance to tender for the associated works and several other jobs at various EKC campuses.
Then in September we secured our first contract at their prestigious new Welcome reception building which was fundamental to the Dover Campus to be delivered on time.
BBL were given 14 weeks to completely refurbish the 4,300 ft² ground floor of the Welcome building to include new reception, offices and library. This included extensive groundworks, landscaping, structural alterations, complex mechanical and electrical works, new floors/ceilings and full decoration works throughout.
This project was delivered on time and within budget to the full satisfaction of EKC and enabled the campus to use the facility for the new term.
This put BBL in a good position where we were given the opportunity to tender for further works on the campus. BBL was pleased to secure a further 2 contracts which included the conversion of the plumbing block ground floor into a workshop and a part of the Engineering block into Laboratory, office and workshop.
Since then BBL has continued to secure and deliver projects for EKC whilst being recognised for our quality of product and service in doing so.
This recent revenue stream has enabled BBL to diversify and demonstrate its qualities in the commercial sector of the construction industry.
